Edit Task Staff Restrictions

 

Purpose

This option allows a task to be restricted to a subset of staff. If the task is restricted then only staff allocated to the task will be able to view the task in lookup lists and book time to the task on the timesheet.

 

Note NOTE: This is a very effective way of restricting access to task. However, it can be labour intensive if you have lots of tasks restricted in this way because if a staff member leaves and is to be replaced by another staff member, each task would need to be manually changed.

 

Operation

Note NOTE: Only staff whose services match the task service are shown in the availability list.

To restrict the project to specific staff;-

1.Place a tick in the option Restrict timesheet bookings on this project to selected staff members?

2.Select the option Add Staff to Project.

3.Place a tick in check box to the left of each staff member you would like to assign to the project.

4.Click the Apply button.

 

To remove staff member(s) from the restrictions list;-

1.Place a tick in the option Restrict timesheet bookings on this project to selected staff members?

2.Select the option Remove Staff from the Project.

3.Place a tick in check box to the left of each staff member you would like to un-assign from the project.

4.Click the Apply button.

 

To change the project from allowing only specific staff members from booking time to the project (allow normal project restrictions apply);-

1.Simply remove the tick in the option Restrict timesheet bookings on this project to selected staff members?

2.Click the Apply button.
